Considering its not what you think it is, you are being rather foolish to attempt to make it fit your ridiculous definition of homophobic behaviour, and just because you want it to be doesn't make it so.

As you are the one who sees some sort of prejorative statement inherent in that word, then it is you, Sir, who are the one being offensive.
I understand what it means, it refers to an entire group of people, and when you substitute it for something that means bad, stupid, or in some way lesser, you are insulting that group of people. If you can't see why that's a bad thing, why using that word as an insult is a bad thing, then I pity you.
